Our story
From a farm at St. Denis to a Saskatoon electrical company
Gaetan LePage was born in Saskatoon and raised on a cattle and grain farm at St. Denis, east of the city.
Before the trade, he worked in elementary schools as a language assistant. What pulled him toward electrical work was simple: “You put something up and you don’t have to start over the next day.” He has worked in the electrical trade since 2007.
As a newly certified journeyperson, Gaetan was laid off. People kept asking him to help with their electrical projects anyway, so instead of turning the work down, he started pulling permits. That was the start of CL Electric, in 2015. He has since earned his Red Seal.
The “CL” comes from the first letters of two last names: Gaetan’s and a former business partner’s.
What he’s proudest of
Ask Gaetan about his favourite jobs and he’ll talk about lighting. Every space where he installs good lighting brightens up someone’s day, every time they use it. That’s the part of the work he loves most.
How we work
- Connections built to last. We pigtail the connections at every outlet, so if one outlet fails, the rest of the circuit keeps working.
- We explain the work. You’ll know what we’re doing and why before we start.
- Free estimates. A ballpark usually the same day, or a full written quote in about a week.
- Permits handled. We pull the permits and coordinate with the power company.
- Clean job sites. We clean up after ourselves.
- Fast callbacks. Call weekdays 8 to 5. Missed us? We call back within 2 hours.
“Our clients can expect an energetic team of creative problem solvers. We sometimes call ourselves the magician electricians!”

In the community
CL Electric supports Community Living Association Saskatoon (CLASI), a Saskatoon charity that supports people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
