Power where you work

A shop is only as useful as the power in it. We wire shops, quonsets, detached garages and outbuildings so the lights are bright, the heaters run and the welder doesn’t trip the breaker.

Gaetan grew up on a cattle and grain farm at St. Denis, east of Saskatoon. Yard sites, bins, barns and shops are familiar ground, and most of our farm and acreage work is still out that way: up Highway 41 toward Aberdeen and east toward Vonda and Prud’homme.

A typical shop job

  • An underground feed from the house or yard pole
  • A sub-panel in the shop, sized for what you’ll run
  • Bright LED lighting and plenty of outlets
  • Circuits for heaters, welders, compressors and hoists
  • Overhead door openers, yard lights and block heater plug-ins

If the shop needs more power than your yard service can provide, we can upgrade the service at the same time. Building something new? See electrical wiring installation.

“Gaetan and his crew wired a detached building for us. They were efficient and did excellent work. We can barely tell that they were even in the yard aside from having power there now. Quick, clean, and great to work with.”

FAQ

Common questions

How do you get power to a shop or quonset?

Usually with an underground feed from the house or the yard pole to a sub-panel in the new building. We plan the route, dig or coordinate the trench, run the cable and connect it at both ends.

Will my yard site need a service upgrade?

Sometimes. A big shop with heaters, welders or a hoist can be more than an older yard service can carry. We check the load first, and if you need more capacity we can do the service upgrade too.

Do you wire grain bins, aeration fans and barns?

Yes. We wire bins and aeration fans, barns, livestock waterers and block heater plug-ins, and run yard lights and power out to each building.

Do you work on farms outside Saskatoon?

Yes. Most of our farm and acreage work is out Highway 41 toward Aberdeen and east toward Vonda and Prud’homme, but we cover a wider area around Saskatoon. Give us a call and ask.

Do you do detached garages in town?

Yes. A detached garage is wired the same way as a shop: a feed from the house, a sub-panel, lights, outlets and heat.

Are estimates free?

Yes. We can usually give you a ballpark the same day. A full written quote on paper takes about a week.
